From October 3, 2011 until March 22, 2012, I was—literally—disabled and employed. Ironically, this blog had to go on the back burner while I focused on work and family life (doing neither particularly well, I must add). I was employed by a governmental human services agency; now, I may become a client. The ironies run deep and cut sharp.
Yesterday, when I found the link below online, I immediately shared it on Facebook and Twitter (yes, you can “follow” me, although at your own risk). The list inspired me to return to this blog, to metaphorically restart my engines. In fact, I’ve had myriad “re”-conceptions since my layoff. I want to re-analyze my goals, reposition myself in the “market,” re-establish my passions, re-focus my energy, redeem my value, to re-consider, re-purpose, seek redemption, re-circulate, re-connect, and remain vital.
As ever, I intend to rise above my disability and hope to inspire others to do the same. Let’s take it one step at a time, shall we, and get to where we’re bound with honor, dignity, and pride.
